oops.

and that's just about all you can say, isn't it?

now it's gotta suck to be putin right about now. i would joke about what the conversation might be like but i don't think it'd be real damn funny.

alright. i'm in the mood to pontificate a little.... first up, what i'm reading... oh, too many things to number at once BUT one thing in particular is a mind-number - global frequency from warren ellis..... and if your one of those "oh, if it has pictures and can be bought in a COMIC store, it's not real literature!" people, bite my hairy white ass. i love those people. print is the ONLY thing that can do it justice! yah, whatever. a book is a story that gives you the words but leave the pictures to your mind. a comic is a book that doesn't need the bullshit exposition (ala tolkien... never COULD make it thru that long winded bastard's material....) because it's art gives you the setting/place/enviroment and it gives you the dialogue with some facial expression. to the next level, movies are nothing more that books as moving pictures. dialogue, scenery and expressions all painted for your pleasure and enjoyment. but amazingly enough, i know scores of people who'll watch a movie every night of the week but wouldn't think of picking up a comic book or graphic novel in a million years. don't know where the hell that came from but there ya go.

currently listening to davinci's notebook.... holy SHIT these guys are a blast! and not just for the novelty aspect. some serious musical talent here, boyz and grrlz... clint says they'll be here in town at the blue moon soon... and it JUST so happens i'm starting my vacation the day after the show... so it WON'T be a school night! WOO! for me!!

currently about to watch: insomnia with robin williams and al pacino...... that's assuming something else doesn't sidetrack me. i'd say it's pretty much even odds.

shit.

at the exact moment that i'm writing this, somewhere around 600 russians are being held at gunpoint by terrorists in moscow.... so what's the headline at the same moment on msnbc? "west coast hunt - Search in Tacoma, WA may be linked to D.C.-area probe". wow. and we wonder why the rest of the world hates us. granted, they envy us too, but they despise us more, i think.... 600 people may be dead before this is over and all we want to hear about is ONE guy picking people off one at a time a few days apart. at least most of those victims were blessed with the fact that they were dead the moment the bullet passed thru their body....... and they probably never saw it coming. see, in the grand scheme of things, the whole washington dc thing sounds kind of small. well, maybe not to an blindly loyal, screw the rest of the world, true red, white and blue american, i guess. think about it, kids. especially if happen to be one of those who think the russian thing is trivial and unimportant for us here in the states. around 600 or so men, WOMEN and CHILDREN being held at gunpoint. in a moscow theater where they were just going to be entertained. which is now strewn with land mines placed by the terrorists. imagine. one wrong shift or move and it's boom boom up to the ceiling you (or you in pieces) go... just like in oddworld for x-box. only permanent. and to the terrorists - why oh why would you let all the muslims out?!?! do you not understand acts like that add fuel to the fire of every religious basket case in the world?!?! do you WANT everyone to think your religion is for whack jobs only??!! think, people, think. if we'd all just apply our brains a little more and quit knee jerking, the world would be SOOOO much better a place to hang out.

sigh.

okay, now THIS is a giggle! guess those ol' copyright laws are a tricky bunch o' rules and regs.... getting ready to appear before the Supreme Court this session is an INTERESTING (to say the least) case dealing with copyright protection.... and it looks like this one is going to have QUITE the effect on di$ney! read on, oh true believer....

Disney’s monopoly on Mickey could end if the court sides with an Internet publisher in a landmark copyright case that will be heard Wednesday. If upheld, the case would put the earliest images of Disney’s mascot and other closely held creative property into the public domain as early as next year. That would cost movie studios and heirs of authors and composers millions of dollars in revenue as previously protected material becomes available free of charge.

At issue is a 1998 law that extended copyright protection an additional 20 years for cultural works, thereby protecting movies, plays, books and music for a total of 70 years after the author’s death or for 95 years from publication for works created by or for corporations. - msnbc

oh THAT'S gotta suck! so what you're basically saying is, we're gonna get a flood of 'mickey does minnie' and 'minnie walks the dog with pluto' adult animated dvds on the market.... hehehehehehe..... REALLY well done ones too! this is gonna be SUCH a giggle to watch......
