wow. a new record. 186 pieces of mail, 4 legit emails in the bunch. damn.... and that's in ONE 24 hour period. that's just sickening. granted, the pics were enjoyable enough hehehehehehehehe...... but even with rough guesstimation, i figure i'm looking at around 60 THOUSAND pieces of spam a year i have to wade thru. WHEN will someone pass a law, dammit. well, my latest box from spun.com arrived (GOD i love those guys) and with the latest addition of season 4 of buffy and season 1 of angel, i am completely up-to-date and an utter and total buffy geek. 30 dvds of buffy and related material. oops - 31 if you count the original movie. my buffy now outnumbers my star trek collection. oh god. i just realized i'm just exchanging one geek fiefdom for another. shit. see, you can't escape it. once a geek, always a geek. and speaking of dvds, i have GOT to update my dvd profiler database soon... it is SOOO out of date.... i think i'm up in the 800+ dvds region at this point.......... hehehehe... god i love movies......

YES!! finally, a well written and short, easily digestable piece on widescreen versus pan & scan for the masses!!! READ ON if you'd like to be informed, o faithful ones!..... (big assumption on my part again that someone is actually paying attention to what i'm saying but that's just how us psychotics think........) ...... where was i... OH YES! the joys of widescreen versus the evils of pan & scan.... and the first one'a you pumpkinheads that mutters a word about black bars gets pimp slapped. and if you haven't heard yet, the 'monk' second season premiere last friday night was a smash! WOOOOO!!! tony shaloub is a god. a god, i tell you. no other human could play that part so well..... and i LOVE watching stottlemeyer and his never ending insecurity concerning monk getting "one up" on him at a crime scene :) definitely the high point of my week.... god forbid i get maudlin but mom woulda loved it.... as a MATTER of fact, i think i'll go watch last friday's ep again. (i record them all as they come down and then burn them to vcd hehehehehe..... yes, fanatic would be an understatement.)

holy SHIT!!! a personal best record... from the time i left for work this morning (7:50am) and now (7:20pm), i've recieved ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE pieces of email!! JESUS!! now... ask me how many were spam.......... 116. this is what we call OBSCENE. (and i'm not talking about the actual subjects of the emails! and why in god's name a woman would want to do that to a dog is utterly beyond me.) FIVE legitimate emails. and in reality, three of those were "newsletter" type emails that i keep swearing i'll unsubscribe from someday. so really two legit emails. a list of comics for sale from a friend of a friend and a reminder to burn something for a co-worker. god i hate email.

and if you are even REMOTELY considering voting for dubya when he runs again, consider this - ONLY that moron could fall off a segway. ONLY dubya. for god's sake it's got gyros and shit to keep it perfectly balanced!!! you want a man who can't even navigate a segway charting the course of this country???!!! HELL NO!! click here to read the story and see the photos. i'm thinking the white house probably issued this thinking it makes him appear "more human"..... no, guys, it just makes him look like a fucking dolt.

“IRAQ HAD A weapons program,” President Bush said. “Intelligence throughout the decade shows they had a weapons program,” Bush told reporters during a meeting of his Cabinet. “I am absolutely convinced that with time, we’ll find out they did have a weapons program.”

you sanctimonious piece of shit. what happened to "they HAVE a weapons program"?? what happened to dubya and his infamous "PROOF" that they were building AND were in POSSESSION of weasels of mass destruction??? now it becomes a "i'm convinced" party line?? christ. somebody GET THIS FUCKER OUT OF OFFICE!!! NOW!!! there has to be SOME way to impeach him. or else, in my never humble opinion, all is lost.

absolutely irrelevant and unrelated to anything but my never-ending day is finally done and i'm preparing to sit down and watch my "die another day" dvd so i figured i'd do a head count on which bond titles i own and which i don't to make sure the collection was up-to-date..... and i discovered i was missing one of my favorites... "man with the golden gun" ..... KILLER theme song sung by lulu, GREAT villain as played by christopher lee (you young pups know him better as count dooku) and a MENACING little henchman played with zest by hervé villechaize.... and DAMN but that little golden gun was frighteningly kool to the nine year old kid that i was at the time.... so now i have the front 11 movies and the last 5 (dr no, from russia with love, goldfinger, thunderball, you only live twice, on her majesty's secret service, diamonds are forever, live and let die, the man with the golden gun, the spy who loved me, moonraker, license to kill, goldeneye, tomorrow never dies, the world is not enough and die another day). i'm missing a string of four in the middle that i have NO interest in owning - for your eyes only, octopussy, a view to a kill, the living daylights..... because even though a bad bond is better than no bond, i've just never been a big fan of those four.... when roger moore REALLY started to show his age and dalton just wasn't memorable in his first outing as bond... his second shot was much better. okay, well now that i've gotten that out of my mind and taken care of, time to go watch "die another day" .... ttfn

sigh. i wish i had my own personal mechbot. life would be so much easier. well, today should be hellish. mechanic in the morning, doctor at midday and then dentist in early afternoon. christ. and i'm going to say it again - guys, if you're thinking about a vasectomy...... DON'T!!!!!!!!!! it is not worth the time, agony and general irritation. 3 months later and i'm still in pain, among other problems. as god is my witness, the doctor (during his "prep" talk) gave me NO indication of some of the things that could go wrong. NONE. by the time this whole thing is over, i may just be collecting a monetary award and watching the flintstones for the rest of my life. and that's NOT wishful thinking, trust me.

aaaaaaaaand we're back. at this point in my life, with my current circumstances and what not, basically i consider any time away from the computer as "commercial break" time... something i have to get thru till i can get back to the pc. sad, but it works for me, kiddies. doing the surf thing awhile ago, stumbled on some fun quote and three of them i MUST share with you hehehehehe.... they're all three brilliant and one applies sooooooo well to me, as anyone who has had to deal with me on an ongoing basis can attest (don't tell me anything, write it or send it to me. otherwise, it's gone.)

There are only two rules for success:

1. Never tell everything you know.
2.

dammit, confucius was a genius. well, him and sun tzu. time to go mechin'.

michael powell is the son of satan. oh yea, you THOUGHT he was the son of colin powell but you were WRONG! he is the son of satan and that's all there is to it. to quote the inbreed -

“This is not a complete deregulation of the media,” Powell said on ABC’s “This Week.” “There will be rules and restrictions. Everything that a media company would like to do is not going to be permitted.”

BULLSHIT. if you think clear channel, infinity, rupert murdoch and the rest of the shitheels who would like nothing better than to control every inch of the media are going to sit back quietly once further deregulation of radio/tv/print goes into effect, then you are either fooling yourself OR you are at best a simian who has learned to tie their shoelaces and add 2 and 2. maybe the average human just doesn't get it, but wake up kids!! remember max headroom the tv series? where it was a handful of corporations who owned ALL media??? and programmed what they wanted, no matter how obscene, disgusting or frivolous?? i used to joke that was the future if we didn't keep an eye out. and here it is. sigh. so today is supposed to be the big vote at the fcc - you can click here and get more informed.

goddamn republicans.

ummm......... EXCUSE ME???? wow. like... holy shit. this is not good my children. not good at all. think about it. no standalone browser means inherent part of your operating system. which ie6 has, for all intents and purposes, become as of late (sp1). and anything THAT entwined into your os canNOT be good. just my opinion.

and i've decided, in honor of the travelers on the international space station, i'm watching tank girl today. it's in my top 25 all time flixx and i'll dig any excuse to throw it in.... see news item below, kiddies:

Weird but true story: The other day on NPR's All Things Considered, host Michele Norris spoke with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station. They all got to talking about how hard it was to adjust to not seeing other people around. So, the 'nauts got a shock when they popped in a movie--their first in a few months--and saw all these humans onscreen. When pressed for the title of the movie, Commander Ken Bowersox balked. He claimed that others had recommended it and that it wasn't his choice. Finally, he relented and admitted that, while trapped in a space station, the astronauts all watched Tank Girl!
