a couple of new additions to the cam-page... decided to add a downtown lexington & louisville cam.... since i live in one and work in the other, figured it'd be an easy way to check outside weather conditions :) ah, the joys of geekdom...... and since i DO have the day off and since i haven't done ANY work to the graphics on this page for almost a year, i think i may have to sit down and do a button redesign over on the side today... in between x-box matches, of course.

ah, sunday mornin' working on auctions. god knows it is sometimes hard to force myself to do the work but once i get in the groove, i do so enjoy this :) a little brother where art thou remix on the media player, speaks up full and off we go.... to be followed later by some SERIOUS damn x-box gamin'!!!!!!! time for a few cuban and bosnian soldiers to take a little trip to sniper heaven. meanwhile, in iraq..... sigh. here's my prediction - the gop goes to bush and pulls a lyndon b... ok, i already said that a few days ago but i'm thinking that if i just keep REPEATING it over and over, it'll happen. and my soul sags at the thought of what comes if he wins. hell, maybe the evangelicals are right. if there IS a god and if there IS an "end times", i'd HATE to think i was born just in time for it. now THAT would suck. (and the FIRST evangelical that says "no, that would be WONDERFUL to be born in the end times!" gets severely pimpslapped.)

wow. i just spent an hour and ten minutes on the phone with dell getting my dvd burner replaced. HOLY moley. BUT. i'm a satisfied customer. they're replacing my drive with no hassle and it should be here within days. i think i can hold off any new burns for a few. nice guy on the phone. very helpful. and yes, very indian. which i have no problem with. my problem is a) outsourcing and b) thick accents of ANY type on tech support people. but hey, he's gotta work too. and he DID get my drive replaced so hey, i'm happy. now, if i hadn't been on my meds? HA! hell, that phone call would've ended about 50 minutes earlier with a lot of screaming, a few broken objects and probably a still unresolved hardware problem. so three cheers for modern pharmaceutical science, dammit!!! WOOOOO!!

sidenote - shootin' foreign soldier scum rawks! on the X-BOX, that is! see, i'm thinking like "let this be your last battlefield" style... all modern wars should be fought on the computer. how to rack up casualties? hmmmm... i haven't figured that one out yet. i'll work it out eventually though. ghost recon: island thunder - it's not just a game, it's a chance to kill foreign people with your friends :) how CAN i be SOOO against war and THE war while still be such a war mongering gaming piggy? it's easy... blood on the screen is just pixels :)

if you're not sure WHO in the hell i'm talking about, click HERE!!! or THERE!!! (i like to occasionally give you a choice.....) i'm reminded of dr dean because he was on penn & teller's bullshit! a couple of weeks ago and i'm just getting round to watching it. this ep is on people (okay, women. men do it but i can honestly say i don't know ONE man who's ever had cosmetic or plastic surgery.) who subject themselves to the aforementioned plastic/cosmetic surgery.... this includes botox, collagen, etc. every DAMNED one of them DISGUSTING!!!! now, that's kind of funny coming from a guy with lots o' ink on his back BUT. that's art. at least a type of. there is NO way you are going to convince me that fixing it so you can't arch your eyes for the next six months is art of ANY type. and breast enlargement? oh, let's just not go there. suffice it to say i think takes a special kind of stupidity. and self loathing. and low esteem. (see, i said let's not go there..... i just can't stop...)

BUT. let me qualify that with - if that's what you wanna do with your body, FEEL FREE. i think you've got some serious issues to deal with that you aren't admitting yet but that's OK with me. :) me? i KNOW i've got serious issues to deal with :) hell, ask anyone who spends any time with me.

and now, back to finishing the show for me. oh, by the way.... if we have any tennessee drivers in the room... YOU PEOPLE SUCK! why is it EVERYtime so yokel cuts me off on the waterson, he/she INEVITABLY possesses a tennessee license plate!

there's a REASON none of the major networks ran the bush address on his "plan" for iraq on monday.... because nobody believes him anymore. NObody. even many senior members of the gop are starting to back away from dubya. could this be lyndon b. all over again? can you just hear the republicans saying "listen, dubya, you're screwing this up for everyone... we'd like you to just forget about seeking the nomination, okay?". me, i'd pay money to see that one.

okay, i gotta address this whole "beheading" thing.... since it seems to be the topic of most heated discussions nowadays.... and i do mean HEATED. and the majority of the "heat" in these discussions seems to be coming from the people who really aren't thinking this whole thing through. here's how it breaks down. or at least how i see it laid out...... a bunch of EXTREMIST islamic terrorists kidnapped an american civilian, brutally cut off his head and threw his body out into the street. and they taped it. that's bad. REAL bad. ugly. horrifying. barbaric. totally uncalled for. and if it was my brother, from that moment hence forward in time, i would despise anyone remotely resembling a middle easterner. i wouldn't blame the younger berg son. now, that said, let's continue on. first off, we're told by the gov't and the media that there are records showing he was WARNED to leave the country prior to his being kidnapped. we currently accept this as fact. so he KNEW he was in imminent physical danger. me, i would've been on the next plane to the states via baghdad.

now suddenly i'm hearing people around me screaming "i can't believe this!! all we did was abuse their guys a little! okay, maybe it was wrong but we just beat 'em up and shit! they cut the guy's head off!!!!!".

okay, first, that is the most SIMPLISTIC view of a situation i've ever heard. think things through. we (and i do mean we because the world is currently holding AMERICA responsible for that mess. not the soldiers but US as a nation. they think we're loud, obnoxious and like to shoot things. and who are we to contradict THAT assessment?????) didn't just abuse them. we TORTURED them. you can't mince words - did you see the pic with wires attched to the guy's BALLS and ARMS and NIPPLES???? THAT'S TORTURE!!!!!!! PERIOD! and the NEXT dumbass jethro that tells me "BUT THEY DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THEM HOOKED UP TO POWER!!" is gonna get SOOOOOO bitchslapped. ABDUL DIDN'T KNOW THAT!! as far as HE was concerned, he was the christmas tree for the local army platoon's summer christmas pageant!! and i haven't even TOUCHED on the whole "piling them up in naked arabic pyramids" thing and the stupid little private bimbo holding the naked guy on a leash crap! do you have ANY idea what it is to a muslim male to subject them to THAT kind of abuse and torture???? it violates their actual religious beliefs, people!!! are you GETTING the picture now??? you don't equate what american soldiers did to their prisoners to what the islamic terrorists did to berg. they killed him. it was relatively quick. it was not, from what we can see, preceded by humiliation and degradation. they allowed him to die like a man. the muslim prisoners who were abused, draped with women's panties (oh MAN you don't wanna think about what a disgrace that would be for them!) and tortured naked, etc will have to live with that for the rest of their lives. some will believe it makes them less of a man in the eyes of their god or their society. so, if you'd like to equate something with what was done to the iraqi prisoners, here's the closest i've come up with so far - if an iraqi terrorist kidnapped a virgin Christian woman, sodomized her with a cross, ejaculated on her bound and beaten body, beat her genitals and then allowed his buddies to use her...... then we're in the same ballpark. because it would mentally scar her for life. and physically scar her. SOOOOOOOO. how about THIS idea - let's quit trying to compare apples and oranges. what we did was SHITTY. and can never be forgotten. maybe forgiven but not forgotten. and what they did was just as SHITTY. again, forgiven but forgotten? nah, don't think so. people just don't seem to get it - it's a different world over there. if you don't believe me, read a book - read a magazine - watch discovery channel. we knew it was a different world going in. they value life differently. and that may not be your point of view but it doesn't mean theirs is wrong either. and the the neo-nazi christians who say - WE MUST BRING DEMOCRACY TO THEM! WE MUST BRING CHRISTIANITY TO THEM! , i say SITTHEFUCKDOWNANDSHUTTHEFUCKUP! they've been ruled by royalty and quasi-royalty based systems for centuries and they seem to be ok with it!! tyrannical despots - different story. we burn that bridge when we get to it. and the "bring christianity to the filthy heathens" thing is just so damned ludicrious, it's funny. better men than are alive today (with the possible exception of billy graham, i love that guy!) have tried for centuries and failed. see, they seem to be really into the whole "allah" thing and i think that's just cool as hell. more power to them for being able to revolve that much of their lives around religion without losing track of everything. and please keep in mind, it's EXTREMIST muslims who are playing fly in the soup for the past few years, ok? not everyday regular muslims. the regular ones are A-Ok. see, if you think about it, you'll remember that we try to keep the EXTREMIST christians out of power over here too. remember them? you know - the kind of people who believe that aids is god's way of dealing with gays. the kind of people who believe that 9/11 was caused by the aclu, women without bras and potheads. (if there is a god, i KNOW pat robertson and jerry falwell are gonna burn in the hottest corner of hell just for ACTING like them know "him".) suffice it to say the middle east has gone on this long without christianity, so i'm sure they can go a few more millennia without it.

i really hope i've cleared this up for anyone who might stumble by here and be confused over this whole thing. or maybe i've helped point out some not so obvious points to any who might see this as a cut and dried situation. or maybe i'm just pissing into the wind. hell, who knows. regardless, i'm spent. having had this discussion a couple of times this week, i tend to get worked up and wound up... and then spent. so i'm off to relax with either a rewatch of last night's angel or some old green acres episodes.... tough choice. i'll leave you with my latest obsession: genesis chapter 11, verses 1-9. go read it. see, i really blame god for all this. all miscommunication stems from god. now THERE'S a slogan for a new religion if ever i've heard one.

god KNOWS it's not that i'm a big seinfeld fan but i'd take it over friends. yes, matthew perry is funny. even VERY funny at times. but it's not worth dredging thru the ross storylines and whimpering to get to perry's lines. and it's not worth going thru monica's complete worthlessness as a character to get to the occasional funny joey moment. and i'll second the above article's author - yes, i laugh my ASS off everytime i see the one with joey's head in a turkey but i laugh OHHHH so much harder when i watch the original mr bean sketch where it happens to ROWAN ATKINSON, a true comedic genius. so, to friends, i say so long and farewell but it's not like i won't have it shoved down my throat for the next 30 years in syndicated reruns anyway.

and while the final ep is running, i'll be watching season 1, episode 14 of sanford and son.... VERY funny show! VERY funny writing! VERY consistent show! and how can you not like redd foxx????
