my observations on the sick, perverted existence we call ''life'' as it rolls inexorably onward. on a sidenote, this page is formatted for a 1024x768 display. anything less would be....... less. if you wanna leave me a voicemail, call 1-206-666-FUCK. (here's yer chance to yell back.)

Your thought for the day to chew on: killing IS justifiable at times AND when justifiable, it is NOT frowned on by the bible. at least that's my interpretation. in the original hebrew, it is NOT "thou shalt not kill"... it is ACTUALLY "thou shalt not murder". ahd killing and murder are two ENTIRELY different things, as we all know... or we all should know..... yes, i like to read interpretations of the commandments for fun..... at least THIS morning... tomorrow morning, it'll probably be the sex life of the tsetse fly.

easily the FUNNIEST oxymoron i've seen yet this year:

"WALMART SUPPORTS HUNTER EDUCATION!"

yes, i'll just bet you do.... i can hear it now.... "yes sir, we like to keep our customers edu-macated - like this remington 12 gauge - ONLY use magnum shells when yer goin' after BIG game.... like raccoons!".

you know, we REALLY don't deserve a planet of our own. and someday i'm sure some alien race eons ahead of us will come down and subjugate us all. as a species, we've got a few lessons coming, god knows.

uh oh.... why do i get the intense feeling that if something like this does happen, the current administration (and i use that word in the LOOSEST of ways!) would not HESITATE to snatch away another stack of civil liberties like they did with the patriot act..... jesus....

wow.  stardust is STILL on the air!! WOOO!  for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, here's the nutshell version - i have an internet radio station called Stardust Memories... it's playlist consists of about 269 tracks of what you might call "nostalgia" music... frank sinatra, mel torme (he was an ASSHOLE!), bing crosby, rosemary clooney, john coltrane, dave brubeck, peggy lee, etc etc etc... it was the FIRST internet only nostalgia radio station... no small feat... at one time there were inquiries from live365 about advertising and sponsorship.... i, being the "radio purist", said hell no and the station went on in it's small way.... until live365 decided they wanted the b'casters to pay to continue their broadcasts to the masses.... ok, i ain't poor but i damn sure ain't rich... so i had to drop it, long story short, they implied the station would be dropped if no pay.... turns out a year later, the station is still goin' strong :)  hence, my joy..... 97 listening hours in the last 30 days.... may not be much but it's something..... average 3 hours a day SOMEbody is listening... and it ain't me... so ..... just wanted to spout that one... i'm kinda proud of my little station.....

wow. i've found the single most interesting website in history.... (okay, for now at least... i'll get bored with it or finish it within the next few days and then it's on to something new... but until then, i'm enthralled.)... if you don't know much about the military history of the us, this site is indispensable:

Complete Wikipedia History Of U.S. Military Conflict

you'll find out things you never would've believed if heard in conversation. okay, maybe that sounds a little overdramatic but i'm just a history fan... not a buff, just a fan :) i think it's funny to look back and see how humans react after a crisis is long over... the added space of time tends to lend clarity to events. just spent a few rereading the facts behind the infamous "black hawk down" incident aka the battle of mogadishu..... no matter how you feel about war, loss of life or the futility of it all, you MUST admire the fact that while 18 american lives were lost, over 350 somali militia and mob members died in the ensuing gun battles. our leaders may send them to places we don't belong and silly shit like that but you have to admire a fighting force that efficient and deadly. flat out good at what it does. and when the chips were totally against them. but of course, for every battle like that, there's a "tampico affair of 1914".... really.... bombarding a city for arresting two drunken us marines? sigh.... and now i think i'm off to play a little ghost recon on the xbox.... i'm suddenly in a military mood.....

owww. oowwwwww. oowwwwwwwwww.

shit. AGAIN.

oh lord, WILL this dental work EVER end?!?! sigh. but the doc says the end is in sight. which is a good thing. i used to joke about winding up looking like jaws in moonraker. i don't joke about it anymore :) i am the legend become real.... or the metallic monstrosity become real... or something equally as florid.... one of these days i'm gonna post a shot of these lovely half steel/half porcelain bridges they've built up in my jaw the past couple of years... it's truly a marvel to behold...

sigh. DAMMIT today is one of those days i WISH i still had a bike.... not a big one.. just something manageable like my old honda cb360, may she rest in peace... i say that even though to be totally honest i can't for the LIFE of me remember what i did with her.... i know i sold her to someone... i think.... dammit... no long term, no short term. shot. but i digress... this is the perfect day to hit the roads out on walnut hill and out tates creek. i keep wafflin' on this idea but soon i'm gonna have to get one.

yatta yatta.. more forced self-interaction with the world at large this morning.... i find that if i force myself to go out for errands occasionally whether i need to or not, i find myself not so put-off at the thought of going out occasionally for legitimate reasons i.e. the monkey's recital or the wife's co-worker gathering...... i just hate this whole "sea of humanity" thing... i always thought lexington was bad until the first time i set foot in a louisville shopping mall... FILTHY with humans! everywhere. you turn, another human. you spin, another human. christ. when you get right down to it, i get geechy if there's more than about 5-6 humans around me at any one time. company gatherings? oh HELL no.

up by 645, showered and shaved and out the door by 945... off to circuit city to pick up airplane on dvd for 7 bucks (monday special only), stop at shell for gas and smokes and then off to the driving range for a bucket of balls. just enough to break a sweat.

probably the most active i've been in over a year.

i guess today TECHNICALLY starts my vacation... even though it's actually a holiday.... maybe this year i'll make it out of the house and onto a course for a full round of ACTUAL golf instead of non-stop virtual golf........

... but then again, i wouldn't count on it.

viewing for the evening - "copland" starring more great tough guys than you can shake a small third world country at! not a bad little suspense flick at all! and finished up the "andromeda" 2 disc-er..... i dig... looks like roddenberry had another good idea before he left.

and now i'll spend the next three hours constantly running outside to make sure there are no burning embers on my roof. sigh. god i hate holidays.

this 'andromeda' series from the estate of gene roddenberry ain't too bad at all... nice premise, interesting cast and an excellent ship.... and kevin sorbo DOES make a not too bad "kirk".... i could do without the purple chick though.... kind of irritating.
