picture: midnight fifteen. driving around the neighborhood looking for someplace open that sells the new harry potter book. kroger just down the street is closed and not selling the book. bastards. they had a damn sign up less than a week ago crowing that they'd be open for the debut of the book at midnight. bastards. so it's back in the car and down the road a few miles to the next krogers. damned if i'm fighting some ridiculous line at joseph beth or barnes/noble. thank god the other kroger is open. and selling the book. and it's basically empty. just a few late night stragglers and some poor forlorn looking chick at a table with copies of the book handing them out. unfortunately for her, i was the only one looking for a copy at that moment. "not getting many shoppers for the book tonight?" "no, doesn't look like it. and we really thought we'd have more buyers." mission accomplished. the wife will be pleased when she wakes up. me, i've already read the book. earlier this week. thank god for bittorrent. hehehehe.
